The strip is then processed to form the required number of very small grafts. Once the grafts are placed into their new location on the front and top of your head, they will continue to grow for life. This is the concept of donor dominance and means that the hair basically does not know that it has been moved. It grows as if it was still in the same place permanently. Only hair from the permanent band of hair on the sides and back of the head is used for donor hair. Finer hair can be used, if available, for the hairline if a patient wants a "thinning" look.
